Lisa's Hillbilly Apple Pie Moonshine

A dangerously drinkable apple pie moonshine recipe from Lisa. Sweet, strong, and best shared with friends.

  1. In a large stockpot, combine the apple cider, apple juice, brown sugar, white sugar, and cinnamon sticks.
  2. Heat until the mixture is just about to boil, then reduce the heat to low.
  3. Cover and simmer for at least 1 hour, stirring occasionally to dissolve the sugars.
  4. Remove from heat and allow the mixture to cool completely. (Important: do not add the alcohol while the mixture is hot.)
  5. Once cooled, add the Everclear and spiced rum, stirring well to combine.
  6. Pour into jugs or mason jars for storage. Add a few cinnamon sticks to each container if you like.

Notes

  • In Colorado, Big B's apple cider is the preferred choice if you can get it.
